Welcome to our very own Simon Holland’s ‘Hairy Challenge’ 2014!
No, he hasn’t had a breakdown, or decided ‘to let’ himself go! Actually, he has decided NOT to cut his hair or shave, to raise awareness of the great work done in our community by Bury Hospice.
Simon intends to continue the ‘Hairy Challenge’ until he has raised £1,000, then he may even look for some further sponsorship to publicly cut it all off!
This will prove challenging for Simon because in this business, estate and letting agents are traditionally very well groomed and clean shaven, so this could get interesting.
Whilst an unusual way to raise money for a worthy cause (aren’t they all?) this challenge is a simple way for Simon to show his respect and support for all the staff and volunteers at Bury Hospice, who we’re told need to privately raise £8,000 per day just to keep the hospice open.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
If you’d like to donate, you can do so here, every penny will be massively appreciated: www.justgiving.com/SimonHolland7

As of today, 4th August 2014, Simon raised £3400, much more than the original £1,000 target. We’d like to thank all those who have helped arrange the various events, donated money and prizes and provided moral support to Simon along the way. Bury Hospice will be delighted with the money, which according to local news reports, is greatly needed at this time. So today, we are very pleased to say, the beard is finally gone!!!
