Welcome to my ‘Hairy Challenge’ 2014!
No, I haven’t had a breakdown, or decided ‘to let’ myself go! Actually, I have decided NOT to cut my hair or shave, to raise awareness of the great work done by Bury Hospice.
I intend to continue my ‘Hairy Challenge’ until I have raised £1,000, then I may seek further sponsorship to cut it all off.
This will prove challenging for me because in this business, people are traditionally very well groomed and clean shaven, so this could get interesting.
This challenge is a simple way for me to show my respect and support for all the staff and volunteers at Bury Hospice, who I’m told need to raise £8,000 per day just to keep the hospice open.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
If you’d like to donate, you can do so here, every penny will be massively appreciated: www.justgiving.com/SimonHolland7

As of today, 4th August 2014, I have raised £3400, much more than the original £1,000 target. I’d like to thank all those who have helped me, donated money and prizes and provided moral support along the way. Bury Hospice will be delighted with the money, which according to local news reports, is greatly needed at this time. So today, I’m pleased to say, the beard is gone!!!
