We are pleased to announce that so far we have raised over £1,000 for ‘Children Today‘ by our very own Simon Holland not cutting his hair or shaving. This is the ‘Hairy Challenge‘ and the second time in two years Simon has done this challenge!
Simon’s goal is to raise £2,500, and to help him with that, we have organised a Charity Quiz Night on Thursday 5th May at the Red Hall Hotel, in Ramsbottom with doors opening at 7pm onwards. This will be an excellent social, and networking opportunity for local people and local businesses to come together, have a few drinks, a good laugh and compete against each other, and as always, we’re hoping for a fantastic turnout!
Charities are extremely close to Simon’s heart, and in the past he has personally fundraised over £10,000 for various local charities including Bury Hospice and Children Today. This year, Simon’s focus has returned to ‘Children Today‘, a charity he last supported in 2007 by trekking through the jungles and rainforests of Borneo, raising over £3,500!!!
Founded in 1994, ‘Children Today‘ work tirelessly to provide disabled children the equipment and support they so desperately need, in order for them to take part in day to day activities other children often take for granted, like sports for example. The provision of specialist equipment can have an immediate impact on a child’s life – it can help them go places and do things they otherwise couldn’t, and it can also ease the strain on the parents, who often struggle to find activities the whole family can participate in.
